Particularly if it is combined with useful?
Someone in the TT Artisan factory has a sense of humour. This is the clue to why we have this little film canister in stock at the sales counter. No-one who has seen it has not been struck by how whimsical it is.
A 35mm film canister with a magnetic mount that lets it sit on a camera’s flash shoe mount. Instead of having film inside it has a battery and an LED array pointing to the front.
The LED array has three colour temperatures; 3000K, 4500 K, and 6000K. You change them by clicking a little button inside the end spool of the canister.
The other end of the canister has a socket for a 45min charging cycle.
What do you use this one for? For older film cameras with no inbuilt flash. For my Fujifilm X-Pro1 with no inbuilt flash. For in-close macro shots that need a light boost - for close videos in the dark. For finding things in your camera bag when the venue is so dark you can’t see a thing.
It is delightfully quirky - though a staid design bureau would have put it the works inside a boring black plastic box. this is way more fun.
You will, however, have to put up with foolish commentary by other people - photographers amongst them. Anything new like this is a challenge to some people.
Just wait until they drop their car keys under the table and can’t see them. Then you can either help them out or leave them to grovel on the floor…
