If the title seems cryptic, I apologise. It's meant to tell you that you can have this Tamron lens on your FX-mount Fujifilm camera all the time. Image is Murray Street outside the shop - nicer view than Stirling Street, isn't it?
That's around the home, in the studio, out at the landscape shoot, etc. All the time - because in the tradition of Tamron it is a really good general purpose lens at an affordable price. With a wide, fixed aperture at f:2.8. Current price at CE seems to be in the $ 1345 mark.
The basic structure is light, but tough. It is a sleek design with internal focusing and aperture control. Firm zoom ring and steady manual focus ring. Mounts smoothly.
Works? Well here are a few shots from Murray Street. Wide, long, and close as well.
The car obligingly parked shows that you can cover the entire range of outdoor tourist or show work with the one lens.
Literally walk and shoot - this is with the oldest FX mount body - the X-Pro1 - and the lens is fast. Most satisfying.
Come inside and it's fast enough to not need flash...the VC mechanism helps with this as well. No flash.
