What You Can Expect When Attending PhotoLive This Year
On Sunday, 1st August, the Camera Electronic team and the representatives from the imaging industry will join forces to put Western Australia on the map again with the largest expo in Australia for 2021! Adding to the excitement will be selecting the finest speakers and talented artists who will share their knowledge on their chosen craft. It's all happening from 9am - 5pm at Edith Cowan University Mt Lawley (Building 3).

If you have never been to a Photo Live Expo before, you're in for a treat. For the gear enthusiasts out there, you'll be able to attend the expo area from 9am to 5pm. It's here that you'll get to engage with industry representatives to ask them your burning questions about cameras, lenses, filters, tripods, bags, cases, and lighting equipment (plus much more).What's more, the best thing about the expo is the show specials you won't find anywhere else! So if you are coming along to try out some gear, know that you will be able to purchase the equipment on the day. PhotoLive 2021 Hosts: Saul & Howard Frank, Tony Hewitt, and Alex Cearns
The Camera Electronic PhotoLive Expo 2021 is hosted by industry experts in the Western Australian photography industry (and some who are just outside). Saul and Howard Frank are the dynamic brothers of Perth's very own Camera Electronic who are excited to host PhotoLive for 2021. For those who might not be aware, Camera Electronic is a family-run business in its second generation, spanning 50 years. Over this time, the industry knowledge, expertise, and friendly customer service have continued to serve WA.Saul and Howard are joined by 2013 Australian Professional Photographer of the Year winner Tony Hewitt. Tony has an extensive career in photography, fine-art photography installations, mentoring, and keynote speaking. Tony is also a Grand Master of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and a fellow and an honorary fellow of various institutions. The final host of the PhotoLive Expo 2021 is Alex Cearns. Alex is the creative director of Houndstooth Studio - a creative animal portrait studio. She is considered one of Australia's most highly awarded animal photographers with a worldwide reach and reputation. Alex will also be presenting a speaking session on pet and wildlife photography.
The PhotoLive Speaker and Workshop Line Up
PhotoLive Expo 2021 wouldn't be complete without an exhaustive range of speakers and workshops. The facilitator's task is to discuss their chosen photography genre to expand participants' awareness and knowledge. Plus, live workshops will be conducted to show firsthand the processes and techniques involved in various genres. Hilary Adamson (PhotoLive Newborn Workshop - 9am to 11am)
Hilary Adamson is a highly-acclaimed Newborn Photography who was awarded the 2019 AIPP Australian Newborn Photographer of the year finalist at APPA. At PhotoLive Expo 2021, Hillary will conduct a live shoot to demonstrate how to pose and style a newborn photography model.
James Simmons (Speaking on Weddings - 3pm to 3:40pm)
In James' speaking session, Seeing The Story, he draws on his extensive and awarded career as a wedding photographer. James takes attendants through a journey of his most iconic photos and discusses the story behind them. What's more, he outlines his process and aesthetic choices in capturing stunning shots.
Nick Melidonis (PhotoLive Lightroom Workshop - 9:30am - 11:30am)
Nick Melidonis is one of the most well-known and recognised landscapes and travel photographers committed to photography education. At PhotoLive Expo 2021, Nick will run a Lightroom workshop to demonstrate why it is the editing and image management software of choice.
Jon Miller (PhotoLive Burlesque Workshop - 1pm - 3pm)
Join Jon Miller on a discussion about Burlesque Photography and the art of photographing nudes. Jon is a Fine Art and Commercial photographer with an extensive history in creating fine art nude and surreal image exhibits. The topic will also cover how to prepare and conduct nude photography and how to work with models.
Simone Addison (Speaking on Creative Portraits - 10.10am - 10:50am)
Local Perth photographer Simon Addison discusses her process for photographing fine art portraits. Simone is an awarded wedding and portrait photographer with extensive experience. She will work with attendants to explore the process of working with subjects to capture and edit fine art portraits.
