"Life in Pictures" Short Film Competition by Revelation Perth International Film Festival

Are you passionate about storytelling? Do you believe in challenging stereotypes and promoting positive messages about ageing? If so, we invite you to participate in the "Life in Pictures" short film competition, presented by Revelation Perth International Film Festival.

About the Competition: "Life in Pictures" is an innovative competition aimed at sparking discussions around ageism and celebrating the beauty of growing older. Filmmakers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to submit short films up to three minutes in length that explore ageism or promote age-positive messages. Whether you're a seasoned filmmaker or just starting out, this is your chance to share your unique perspective on ageing and inspire others to see it in a new light.

Categories: There are three categories for entrants:

  • 17 years and under
  • 18 – 59 years
  • 60 years and older

Entry Details:

  • Films can be created by individuals or teams.
  • Entries must be submitted by 5:00pm Friday, June 14, 2024.
  • All films must be made specifically for the "Life in Pictures" short film competition.
  • Films must be a maximum of three minutes long, including credits.
  • Entrants are responsible for obtaining clearance for any copyright or permissions relating to the film and its content.

Prizes: Winners will have their short films featured at a special presentation event during the Revelation Perth International Film Festival in July. Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.

The documentary form is easy to work with and doesn’t require an extensive filmmaking kit. Join Life in Pictures Co-ordinator Keith Smith as he draws on many years of teaching film practice to get you excited about docu-storytelling. Get some storytelling tips, hands-on practice and share your ideas with like-minded film adventurers.
